Meet IMO
Immersive Material Office’s partnership spans more than a decade, blending our individual styles and shared sensibilities to develop experiences that are as technically rigorous as they are emotionally resonant.
Matthew Wilson, Design Principal
↳ BFA Sculpture & Extended Media
Matt believes art is something people experience, not simply observe. Through immersive storytelling and participation, he creates environments that shape how people connect with and remember a place.
Alongside his multidisciplinary art practice, Matt’s work is rooted in participatory design, bringing creatives, communities, and stakeholders together to co-create experiences that reflect the people they serve. From neighborhood placemaking initiatives to civic installations and service design, his practice prioritizes listening as much as making.
Ripon DeLeon, Design Principal
↳ Masters of Architecture | BS Computer Science
Rip approaches immersive design as the orchestration of systems rather than the creation of objects. His work brings architecture, technology, and material together to create cultural and commercial environments that respond to the people who inhabit them.
Before co-founding Immersive Material Office, Rip led physical experience design initiatives at Future Cities Lab and Capital One. His work has received multiple international design awards and has been published in leading books on responsive architecture, installation art, and computational design.
